The Sunward field guide
Is a Venus line always about romance?
The default relationship theme chooses Venus DSC. Venus MC, IC and ASC are different geometric lines and can prompt different questions about craft, taste and belonging.
Relationship is only one Venus question
The default Love & connection theme selects Venus DSC, the setting line. The all-lines browser also shows Venus MC, IC and ASC. Each describes a different place on Earth for the same calculated birth instant; no angle is interchangeable with another.
Venus is often used symbolically for aesthetic preference, reciprocity and enjoyment. For Venus MC, the question could concern visible creative work; for ASC, how you present your taste in a new setting. A line cannot tell you that you will find a partner or sell art.
Worked contrast: Tokyo MC and Tel Aviv ASC
Our reproducible synthetic input is 15 June 1995, 09:30 in Shanghai (Asia/Shanghai), or 01:30 UTC. Tokyo is about 133 km from Venus MC; Tel Aviv is about 3 km from Venus ASC. These are shortest modeled surface distances from city coordinates to lines, calculated by the production engine—not customer experiences.
Tokyo and Tel Aviv illustrate public and rising Venus conditions in the same synthetic map. A shorter distance in Tel Aviv does not make it a better design city than Tokyo. First ask whether you care about a public project or about meeting a place through its daily aesthetics.
Four Venus angles without a romance shortcut
MC, IC, ASC and DSC respectively identify the upper meridian, lower meridian, rising and setting geometric horizon. The questions below are interpretive prompts, not validated life effects.
| Angle | Geometric position | Question to explore |
|---|---|---|
| MC | upper meridian | How could I share creative work without chasing approval? |
| IC | lower meridian | What everyday beauty makes a dwelling livable? |
| ASC | rising at the geometric horizon | How do I express taste when entering a new community? |
| DSC | setting at the geometric horizon | What kind of reciprocity do I want in close collaboration? |
Look at real creative and social conditions
Open the map results, choose “Browse all 40 planetary lines,” then select Venus and the angle you want to inspect. Confirm the birth details before reading a city distance. The default “All themes” filter contains six selected theme lines; it is a different view.
Compare galleries, studios, parks, housing and social spaces you can actually access. A short visit or conversations with local makers can reveal costs and opportunities that a planetary line does not contain.
Keep the line label and birth input in your notes. Relationship outcomes depend on people and circumstances, not on a calculated Venus distance.
The map also shows tropical positions for ten bodies and an Ascendant, plus geometric crossings of different bodies’ angular lines. These are not a full house-and-aspect natal chart or a complete paran method, and they do not validate life-event predictions.
Sources and calculation notes
Technical references below explain the calculations. Practitioner references, where included, document the interpretations attributed to them in the text. Neither type establishes that a planetary line predicts a life outcome. How we use sources
